Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is an efficient and engaging treatment approach designed to teach the client how to change their thoughts, assumptions and beliefs. Changing one’s thought pattern allows a person to change their emotional states and ultimately their life experiences.
CBT is a relatively short-term treatment modality that is ideal for clients with strong will power and an ability to be assertive. This approach requires practice outside of sessions and works well for those who can apply their training throughout the week. We will be focusing on specific problems and working toward developing specific strategies to resolve them. One can think of the treatment as a series of scientific experiments conducted by the therapist and client together, testing hypotheses about the client view of the world.
EMDR Therapy is the most thoroughly researched and proven psychological treatment for emotional difficulties resulting from disturbing life experiences. EMDR is exceptionally effective in treating symptoms associated with a wide range of life events, from the overtly traumatic such as an assault or witnessing violence, to the more subtle such as emotional abuse or bullying.
EMDR uses non-invasive bi-lateral stimulation of the brain to change the way your mind perceives and processes memories. For many clients, EMDR provides more rapid relief from emotional distress than conventional therapies.
EMDR Therapy has helped millions of people relieve many types of psychological and emotional distress. Over the past decade, Alexandra has successfully treated hundreds of clients of all ages with EMDR Therapy.
Video-conferencing sessions are available through VSee, a HIPAA compliant telehealth platform. Video-conferencing sessions offer an equally effective way to obtain CBT and other talk-based treatments from the comfort of your own home or office, and without commute! Online appointments are available on weekdays from 9:00 am-9:00 pm.
Online scheduling is available through the Secure Client portal.
